Led by Karine Locatelli, the children's voices of the Lyon Opera Masters give Christmas its magic.
If the choirs of the Masters are familiar to opera lovers who regularly have the opportunity to admire the commitment and early professionalism of these children musicians, to hear them alone accompanied by the Orchestra is a unique opportunity.
The Christmas festivities have given European musicians (Britten, Gounod ...) beautiful pages dedicated to young voices, mixing magic and nostalgia - the enchantments of Christmas are often tinged with memories.

On December 1st, 2018, take part in the SaintéLyon
"For enlightened amateurs" - Since 1951
Attention: monument! With 65 editions on the clock soon, La SaintéLyon, the mythical night raid between Saint-Étienne and Lyon, the oldest ultra racing, has become a real phenomenon and the biggest nature race in France in terms of participants.
Trail and road race at the same time, (65% of trails and 35% of bitumen), the Saintélyon is the worship appointment of end of season. It literally captivates all those who participate, solo or relay, through 7 formats of night and winter race between two major cities.
Running at night, in the heart of an immense frontal ballet on the ridges of the Lyonnais mountains is always, whatever the weather conditions, synonymous with magic.
A 65th edition event
Not quite a birthday, but undeniably a special edition for the oldest and greatest classic of the French nature race.
In tribute to this exceptional longevity and to Alain SOUZY , our official tracer disappeared at the end of 2017, the SaintéLyon 2018 offers you the longest route in its history with a grand 81km course , for 2100m D + and 2400m D-, and featuring unpublished portions .
Enjoy it because the SaintéLyon will find a mileage "classic" from 2019.
For the rest, we keep the same ingredients that make the mythical Saintélyon a human adventure to live and relive: 17,000 runners maximum spread over 4 formulas and 3 relay formulas, winter and nocturnal conditions often difficult, the fairy tale an uninterrupted frontal ribbon between two major cities, the Trail Running Lounge, a huge popular success and a decidedly different atmosphere.
Sign up now for the Trail Running cult end of season event.

The Pumpkin Festival is an event, located in the heart of the Botanical Garden, festive and completely free. It proposes a set of activities and meetings to go to discover these legendary autumn fruits.
The focus this year will be on the links between gourds and myths. The names of some are not evocative: "little turban of Aladdin", "claw of the devil", "club of Hercules"? Are not pumpkins carved to create monsters? Would giant squash of several hundred kilograms be able to turn into a coach?
Young and old alike will find something to satisfy their curiosity through a rich program of artistic performances, guided tours and workshops.
In the "Village of squash", the greatest will titillate their five senses on the counter stand of Zanzibar while enjoying marshmallow squash. They will be able to discover the real pumpkin seed oil, ideal in a salad or to refine squash soups and potato stews. The best confiturier in France, Philippe Bruneton, will present his pumpkin jams and the Lugdivine editions will punctuate the festival to the sound of their musical instruments in squash.
As for the youngest, they will go through the "Village des Courgettes", to make up their makeup or go fishing with squash. During the rhythmic workshops of Zakia In Nassiri, they will be the musicians of a concerto for maracas rattles and shekérés.
Then, on the stand of the Zoo de Lyon, they will discover the strange squash spider and other ordinary animals that myths have made legendary. Everyone can try to estimate the weight of a giant squash and try to win the jackpot of the "Biggest Pumpkin Contest". Finally, everyone can dream in the imaginary world of the "Court of Tales" by listening to the stories of the storyteller, Chloe Gabrielli.

Orson Welles lives on!
The Other Side of the Wind
The result of a turbulent genesis and a 50-year-long project, Orson Welles' last, legendary film has just been completed, thanks to the efforts of three producers, Filip Jan Rymsza, Jens Koethner Kaul and Frank Marshall, as well as director Peter Bogdanovich. The film’s resurrection, along with its premiere at Lumière 2018, is a major event for admirers of Welles and film historians alike.
The festival mâchon!
Sunday, October 21 at 8:30 in the morning, join in at La Meunière!
MÂCHON : noun, to chew. A gastronomy tradition of Lyon ser- ved bright and early in the morning by typically local restaurants with a menu based on pork dishes or tripes, washed down with glasses of Beaujolais or Mâcon.
What better way to close out the glorious film festival marathon of Lumière than a solid meal shared with friends and film lovers... early in the morning?
Once again this year, the celebrated Lyonnais bouchon La Meunière welcomes all cinema fans for the famous “festival mâchon,” which respects the rules of Lyon’s gastronomic tradition to the letter.
Camaraderie, good humor and a canaille menu are created especially for you by chef Olivier Canal, well-known by gourmets of the region, and his accomplice in the dining room, Annick Roman. A moment of the festival not to be missed.
10 cult films for young movie buffs
10 cult films for young movie buffs
POSTED ON SEPTEMBER 27, 2018
With ten days’ worth of films, including over 400 screenings in Lyon and its metropolis, the Lumière festival reaches a wide audience with varying tastes. It can therefore be difficult to choose from the myriad of screenings listed in the line-up. Lumière suggests a selection of films with scandalous, unruly or cult reputations that can appeal to a young audience eager to enjoy gems of the festival.
We have momentarily slipped into the shoes of a young film buff to compose a tailor-made program. Already envious of the tantalizing list, we are nevertheless immediately confronted with the grueling ordeal of scheduling. How can we fit in all the screenings without the gift of ubiquity? We have an ace up our sleeve: free accreditation for ages under 25. Follow our lead!

“Run In” is more than just a race, it's a concept. A little like a work of contemporary art, but much easier to understand. “Run In” is a Festival of Running which takes place in the most beautiful cities in France and offers several routes so that everyone can join in the festivities. Simple!
If you're going to run, you might as well do it somewhere worth visiting. “Run In” takes place in spectacular cities, full of history and culture. Fancy visiting a museum before the race? It is a thoroughly approved method of relaxing!
With criteria like this, the capital of the Gaules logically became one of the ‘Run In’ events in 2013.
Whether you live in the area or are coming from further afield, “Run In” is an opportunity to discover or rediscover these cities. At running pace perhaps, but around a circuit which has been specially reserved for you.
4 ROUTES FOR 4 TYPES OF RUNNERS
The other characteristic about “Run In” is that it has been designed as an event which is open to all. Whether you are a fanatic who trains even when you are on holiday or a more relaxed jogger who sees running as a way of fitting into the jeans from your youth, there is space for everyone here!
4 routes have been designed to respond to the needs (and abilities) of all: a 10km, a Half-Marathon,a Marathon and a Marathon-Relay. So, there's really no excuse (for your family and friends either) not to join in the fun.
